As expected Mr. Sarkozy won the elections in France today. I don’t think the “banlieue” will start a revolution against him.
Nor do I think that France will be an Islamic state within twenty years, as somebody told me recently.
The whole debate about Islam seems to me much ado about nothing.
Freedom means also the right to choose to be oppressed. Don’t try to liberate women or other people against their will.
And what do we offer these people after their liberation? Condoms? I believe the official position of the US government and of many other politicians in the west is that abstinence and/or marriage is the best solution for all your sexual problems.
