Never give up

Deleterious

The sales rep for Bavaria had said to me: “At your hotel they like to receive books from authors who stay there, they add it to their library. So I brought you a copy of your book and you can give it to the front desk manager.” That’s exactly what I did. I checked in and instead of handing my passport to the front desk manager I handed her the German edition of “The Jewish Messiah”.
The lady at the front desk looked at the book as if it could have deleterious effects on readers, but an author should never give up on potential readers.
This morning I checked out at Hotel Splendid-Dollmann in Munich. The lady at the front desk said to me: “This book of yours that you gave me, does the owner of the hotel know about it?” “The sales rep of Diogenes, who is a charming and fine man, told me that the owner of this hotel loves books.” “Okay,” she said.
“The weather is awful, hopefully it will get better soon,” I answered. I really try to master the art of conversation.
She replied: “You don’t need help with your suitcase do you?”
