Amos Harel writes in Haaretz: ‘The most likely course, if not the only one, is negotiations before action – a last chance to avoid a collision course. This is likely the goal of the meeting between U.S. envoy Steve Witkoff and Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi in Turkey, slated for this Friday.’
He adds: ‘For Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, however, a nuclear agreement that curbs the Iranian project and removes the enriched uranium stockpile from the country is not enough. Netanyahu is pressuring Trump to force Iran to stop the production of ballistic missiles and end support to terrorist and guerrilla organizations in the Middle East.’
Failure of the negotiations ‘could begin a countdown to an American attack, despite uncertainty in Washington about whether that can bring about regime change.’
A brief attack. Trump doesn’t like long wars. Then onwards.
Human rights are for people in heaven.
