A rather bizarre ad in today’s Herald Tribune: “PARIS, very nice blond curvaceous lady, 50, self-employed, divorced. Outgoing, fond of music, evenings out and merry life to share with companion (50-60) seeking a couple, of partners, caring and fulfilled. Monceau St Honoré +33 1 56 68 06 95.”

I’m especially intrigued by the comma between “couple” and “of” but I find it also surprising that this lady is looking for a couple of partners. How many exactly? More than ten? Should they all be caring and fulfilled? I’m a tad too young, otherwise I’d have responded. After all I consider myself a caring person, to a certain degree I’m fulfilled and I’m ready to improve my French through the means of intimacy.
