Zvi Bar’el in Haaretz: ‘Iran's interim summary of the results of the war after 13 days shows that despite severe damage to the regime's institutions, the assassination of dozens of senior officials beginning with Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, (…) the regime did not collapse and the protests did not resume.’
And: ‘Turkey is an ally of the U.S., but in contrast to most Gulf States, it's hostile to Israel and is waging a struggle over regional hegemony with it.’
And: ‘If he [Trump] decides that from his perspective, the war has ended in victory for him and now all he needs is a piece of paper to sign, we can assume that Turkey will be the one to offer the table, pen and paper.’
In other words, Turkey is there for Iran and for Trump, not for the Kurds, and for as long as it serves Erdogan’s interests.
