Money

Publishers

The other day I was talking to my mother about her memoirs that my publisher in the Netherlands is going to publish.
“I hope the publisher won’t lose money on my book, in that case I’m afraid he will never smile at me again,” my mother said. She was genuinely worried.
“Don’t worry,” I answered, “you know these publishers; they even smile at authors who never earned them a cent.”
