Operation

Topple

Michael Hauser Tov and Jonathan Lis in Haaretz: ‘Mossad chief Roman Gofman has removed the heads of the agency's Intelligence Directorate and Iran Division from their positions amid the failure of efforts to topple the Iranian regime, Channel 12 News reported Thursday.
According to a source in the agency who spoke with Haaretz, the move was coordinated with the senior officials, who gave their consent, despite the fact that internal reviews of the Iran operation have not yet been completed. The two are expected to remain in the Mossad.’

And: ‘The source added, "The plan to change the regime in Iran did not fail. It simply was not carried out because it did not receive Trump's approval. The person responsible for obtaining authorization to implement such a plan is the prime minister, not Mossad officials."’

Bibi wanted regime change; Trump, not so much—just some new wallpaper.
