Espresso

This afternoon I bought a pair of shoes. It’s not that I really needed a pair of shoes, but sometimes you buy things you don’t really need.
“Do you want to drink something?” the salesperson asked. She had a charming European accent, Eastern-European probably.
“Do you have espresso?” I asked.
It was the kind of shop where they would be willing to serve customers espresso.
I sat down, drank my espresso and almost forgot why I was in the shop.
The salesperson let me enjoy my espresso and then she came back. “Are you still going to buy the shoes?”
“Yes,” I said. “Of course.”
Especially after the espresso there was no way back, but that can be a pleasant feeling, this point of no return.
