Haaretz: ‘Some 150 Jews in Berlin, many of them Israeli citizens, have signed an open letter defending the left-wing Die Linke party after its victory in this week's Berlin election, amid efforts by Israel's ambassador and German Jewish establishment organizations to keep the party out of government over allegations of antisemitism. Die Linke won Sunday’s election to the Berlin state parliament by a wide margin, putting its lead candidate, Elif Eralp, in a strong position to become the party's first mayor of Berlin and the city's first leader of Turkish heritage.’

And: ‘The Berlin signatories, however, argued that focusing on Die Linke while the AfD continues to gain ground amounts to an “abdication of responsibility on the part of mainstream media and elements of our own community.”’

Anti-Semitism on the left exists, but the uproar over this kind of anti-Semitism is contaminated with Islamophobia and a rather unhealthy love for Israel.
