Auntie

Back in Stellenbosch. A lady was supposed to pick me up at the airport of Cape Town, but because of a misunderstanding she thought that I would arrive on Tuesday.
I called her and she shrieked: "Give me thirty minutes and I'll save you."
Within thirty minutes she arrived with a friend of her, she turned out to be fabulous and she said: "I broke my record.' Then she kissed me and drove me to Stellenbosch.
While we were driving she told me: "Old aunties are very much looking forward to meeting you."
Perhaps it was the language, Afrikaans, and I have nothing against old aunties, but somehow the writer strives to be more than entertainment for old aunties.
