Decay

Schubert

“Good Morning, Night” (2003) is a rather surrealistic movie by the Italian director Marco Bellochio about the kidnapping of Aldo Moro in 1978. But despite or perhaps thanks to the lack of heavy-handed realism Bellochio manages to show the decay; it’s an illusion that you can criticize the rottenness without being affected by it.
The state may be rotten, but those who oppose the rottenness are often worse. Since 1978 not much has changed.
And while we are looking at Aldo Moro pleading for his life we listen to Schubert. What else is there to do for us?
