Powerless

No. 6

I went to the New York Philharmonic to listen to Mahler's Symphony No. 6.
According to the Playbill this symphony is the "musical depiction of utter catastrophe, of humanity rendered powerless and insignificant."
As far as humanism is the conviction that humans are the center of the universe I remain sceptical. There is convincing evidence that we are insignificant, and that our attempts to overcome our own insignificance have been fairly often disastrous.
Another argument for Dadaism: overcome your insignificance in an utterly insignificant manner.
