A fried wanted to know if I had read Friedman's last column. He forwarded me a quote:

"So there is only one remedy: Get power. If you are as fed up as I am, then register someone to vote or run for office yourself or donate money to someone running to replace these cowardly legislators with a majority for common-sense gun laws. This is about raw power, not persuasion. And the first chance we have to change the balance of power is the 2018 midterm elections. Forget about trying to get anything done before then. Don’t waste your breath.

Just get power. Start now."

Read the article here.

Friedman is clear, honest and probably right. Morality that dares to speak its name is about power. It used to be power that was fueled by arguments and some kind of decency, otherwise what would be the difference between morality and the jungle?

But these days we must conclude that decency is not enough. Don't waste your breath. Get power. The decent people need power too, otherwise they will be annihilated soon.
It reminds me a bit of discussions I had many years ago with my more Zionistic friends.
