I'd tried to avoid the subject of gays but the pastor himself brought it up this morning. After he had declared that homosexuals reject God (homosexual men more so than homosexual women, very strange, but alas) he went on to declare that Judaism was a satanic religion and the Holocaust was fake.
In short, there was nothing worse than gays and Jews.
The pastor has ten children and two of his children were present during the breakfast meeting outside Phoenix.
Lovely children, and the pastor himself was a congenial man. A homophobe, an anti-Semite (he despised that word, he said: "That word is false, I just hate Jews and Judaism, but when the Jews accept Christ they are welcome in my church." At that moment I realized that homosexual men were even more beyond salvation than Jews) but a friendly man with a true love for foreign languages.
Later my girlfriend asked: "How was it for you to listen to his anti-Semitic diatribes?" I answered: "It's work for me and it's not my primary job to heal anti-Semites. I found it interesting that bible-based anti-Semitism and homophobia is so alive. I had the feeling that he was fighting against the gay and the Jew in himself. And then these bits of Nazi-rhetoric in between, completely surrealistic. But he has a following. It's still appealing to some people. Not only in Arizona I'm afraid."
