Arnon Grunberg

Sessions

Freckles

Friday night, the final event of Give us the museum.

I did two therapy sessions about refugees, Europe and modern art.

In the second sessions we skipped modern art.
A woman from Slovenia: "I used to be ashamed of my freckles."
A man from Ireland remarked: "We live in a hierarchical society. Resources are scarce. The need for a scapegoat is a side effect of scarcity."

We had socks we could use as puppets to express the things we were ashamed of.

Many people weren't ashamed of anything, one woman got naked, a German lady said: "I'm a stateless nun."
