Over lunch I talked with a friend about decay.
“Imagine,” she said, “that in five, or ten, or fifteen years people look at us and they see decay. It’s going to happen.”
“It’s unavoidable,” I said, ‘but maybe they’ll see charming decay, attractive decay, lovely decay. Repulsion and desire are closely connected.”
