Memories

Le Bristol

Last night, for a change, a conversation with two architects about their favorite hotels.
Of course, Waldhaus in Sils-Maria was mentioned.
One of the architects mentioned a hotel in Paris with a garden where you could eat 24 hours a day but I cannot remember the name of the hotel. (I have fond memories of Le Bristol in Paris.)
There is Grand Hotel et de Milan and San Domenico Palace in Taormina, where I spent New Years eve with my godson, who was ten 6 months old, and his mother.
I remember Mount Nelson in Cape Town.
And of course Hotel Victoria in Glion, where I would like to die.
Atlantic Park Hotel, Baden-Baden.
Ambassade Hotel, Amsterdam.
Not far from Boulogne-sur-Mer I passed recently a terrific small hotel, but I can’t remember the name. (It looked terrific.)
Hotel Adler, Hinterzarten. (I never stayed there, but the cigar bar was highly promising.)
The Mark, New York.
I lived three months in Splendid-Dollmann in Munich, the fall of 2013. It was mostly a perfect autumn in Munich.
König von Ungarn, Vienna.
The Carlyle, New York, for the bar of course.
The list could be longer.
