Tannenbaum

Klein

On this balmy afternoon I went to the Holocaust Memorial of Names, a new Holocaust memorial in Amsterdam with the names of the Jews and Roma and Sinti, deported from the Netherlands.
A review in a Dutch newspaper (Bernard Hulsman, NRC) referred to the memorial, design Daniel Libeskind, as ‘a miracle’.
Miracle is rather strong, but it is impressive and tasteful.
I did find the names of two of my grandparents. Leopold Klein and Louise Klein-Tannenbaum.
