My second day in Ter Apel, a small town in the northern part of The Netherlands, not far from the German border, it's here that an accommodation center for refugees is located. Besides Schiphol (Amsterdam Airport) Ter Apel is the main entrance for refugees coming to The Netherlands.
Somebody working for the IND, the Dutch immigration and naturalization services, told me: ‘Outside the Netherlands everybody seems to know Ter Apel, at least the tour guides seem to know Ter Apel quite well.’
The tour guide, a delightful euphemism for human trafficker.
