Presently I’m in the Green Zone at the guesthouse of a security company.
This is the desk where I’m working on.
The Green Zone has been fairly quiet the last couple of days, or so I have been told.
Tonight I was supposed to visit “little Venice” where the more important Iraqi politicians live, but at the last moment I was informed that this is off-limits, even for holders with a press card issued by the CPIC in Baghdad.
To open doors here you need four, five badges.
But even in that case it’s fair to say that we are all prisoners of the Green Zone.
Fruit and vegetables are a rare commodity here. Whereas at the D-Fac in Camp Taji there was a surplus of kiwis, melons and pineapples.
Cannot wait to go to the Red Zone.
