Gentle

Cool your heart

In his book “Cows, Pigs, Wars and Witches” Marvin Harris quotes a hunter in the Kalahari Desert: “We refuse one who boasts, for someday his pride will make him kill somebody. So we always speak of his meat as worthless. This way we cool his heart and make him gentle.” When somebody says to you that you are old and ugly and your meat is worthless, keep in mind that this is not an insult. A kind person is trying to cool your heart and make you gentle.
