My favorite word in the inaugural address was “nonbelievers”.
“We are a nation of Christians and Muslims, Jews and Hindus, and nonbelievers. We are shaped by every language and culture, drawn from every end of this Earth.” I hope to be still alive when an ardent nonbeliever will be elected President of the United States.
I often hear people ask: “Will he be good for the Jews?” My question is: “Will he be good for the nonbelievers?” I’m moderately optimistic.
