Op woensdagmiddag 8 april gaat Hanneke Groenteman in gesprek met onder andere Arnon Grunberg over de plaats van de Holocaust in het geschiedenisonderwijs en hoe dit onderwerp ook voor jongeren van nu betekenisvol kan blijven, dit alles in het kader van de tentoonstelling Lege stoelen in de klas, dat van 20 maart tot en met 14 juni is te zien in het Stadsarchief Amsterdam. Andere gasten zijn Dienke Hondius, universitair hoofddocent Geschiedenis aan de Vrije Universiteit en stafmedewerker internationale educatieve projecten bij het Anne Frank Huis, Cees Koole, docent Geschiedenis en initiatiefnemer van de tentoonstelling, Maurits van Witsen, leerling van het Joods Lyceum destijds, en Marike Barendse, docent Geschiedenis op het Vossius Gymnasium.

On the afternoon of Wednesday, April 8, Hanneke Groenteman will speak with Arnon Grunberg and others about the Holocaust’s place in history education, and how this topic could remain meaningful for today’s youth. This conversation takes place as a run-up to the exhibition Lege stoelen in de klas (Empty seats in the classroom), which runs from March 20 through June 14 at Stadsarchief Amsterdam. Other guests include Dienke Hondius, associate professor of History at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam and staff member for international educational projects at the Anne Frank House; Cees Koole, a high school history teacher and initiator of the exhibition; Maurits van Witsen, a former student of the Joods Lyceum; and Marike Barendse, a history teacher at the Vossius Gymnasium.
