Homily

Lesson

In the Times of Saturday Edward Rothstein reviews the Illinois Holocaust Museum & Education Center: "One of the challenges faced by Holocaust museums as survivors die is to understand their experience by seeing it through more than their eyes, to examine the past without homogenizing it with platitudes, to offer history without homily."

Too often history is treated as if it is just a rather convenient, didactic lesson.
One of the better Holocaust museums is the House of the Wannsee Conference in Berlin.
