Last night a friend took me to one of the better parties I’ve been to. (Of course, I haven’t been to that many parties, but still...)
The theme was Weimar, the place was Shanghai Mermaid, the dress code was costume, vintage or dressy attire and most of the visitors had really made an effort to dress up as if they were living in Berlin in the 1930’s.
But my friend said: “I bet that at least half of the people here had never heard of Weimar before they read the invitation.”
