My fixer

The first 24 hours

My first 24 hours in Lebanon.
Yesterday the hotel offered me a meal to make up for the mistake by my travel agent. (She sent me to the wrong airport in New York.)
The food was abundant, and this is an understatement, I felt ashamed that I could not finish the food and therefore drank too much wine.
The nightmares I had my first night here were abundant as well.
Today I met my guide who took me to the Shi’ite neighborhood, which was bombed last summer.
Also I met my fixer.
A fixer for those of you who don’t know is a person who arranges contacts.
Have I got a charming fixer.
And also I’d like to point out that war is expected here.
