Arnon Grunberg

This morning I had coffee with a woman who recently started (together with her husband) a literary publishing house in Spain.
I said: “It’s very brave of you to do this in a time when everybody seems to believe that publishers are slowly dying.” “Well,” she said. And she smiled.
And then I asked her: “How about e-books?” She started giggling. “No, no, no,” she said. “No e-books in Spain. There are thieves, but thieves aren’t readers. No. No, no.” I nodded and we changed the subject of the conversation.
