Zvi Bar’el writes in Haaretz: ‘For the third time in several days, U.S. President Trump expressed support on Saturday for the demonstrations sweeping through the streets of Iran.
On Friday, he delivered an unequivocal threat to Iran's leadership, telling them it would be best if they didn't start shooting; otherwise, the United States would too.’
Bar’el adds that President Trump’s sleep is not disturbed by human rights violations and who is oblivious to the murder of tens of thousands of people in Sudan, Yemen and elsewhere.’
Trump’s interests in Iran, according to Bar’el, are ‘Iran's nuclear and ballistic missile programs.’
Why did he get interested in those now?
A regime collapses if the security forces side with the protesters, this is not yet the case in Iran.
And ‘Trump's threat against the regime (…) may breathe life into the protests.’
Or it may be the beginning of another war.
