Tonight my mother was admitted to the hospital. Most hospitals in Amsterdam were running beyond their capacity, but the general practitioner found a bed for her in the western suburbs of the city.
I was working on a lecture while my godson’s mother was with my mother in the ER of the hospital.
Tomorrow I’ll fly to Amsterdam in an attempt to provide my mother with some comic relief.
