Socialite

Nonsense

There’s something to be said in favor of the socialite. A pregnant ex-girlfriend and her boyfriend organized a dinner party that could be called “a salon". The gathering did not take place in the bedroom as in the earlier days of the salon, but the conversations were lively and sometimes enlightening.
We discussed among other things the gold standard. One of the participants claimed that the decision to go off the gold standard made room for the rise of so-called neoliberalism.
A true socialite must bear any amount of nonsense, but perhaps I’m not a true socialite.
