The Greek cast of the theatrical adaptation of my novel “Tirza” took me out for dinner. One of the actors owns a taverna. The food was delicious, a bit much pork, the booze was heavy (a kind of Greek grappa) and despite to law that prohibits smoking in restaurants most of the actors smoked with passion. One of the actresses appeared to prefer cigarettes to food. But like me she had a weak spot for salted cucumbers.
