A short break from Ukraine.

The other day I was having lunch at Sfoglia. I got some vegetables and the manager said: “This is a gift from the kitchen.”
Later he asked: “How were the vegetables?”
“Very nice,” I answered.
“Very nice? A cup of tea at 11 o’clock in the morning, that’s very nice. This is fucking great!”

This is how I like to be treated in a decent restaurant. Tell me what I should eat, tell me what I should drink, tell me how I should respond to questions. A few hours a day I would like to be relieved from the burden of choice.
