Disappearance

A few weeks ago I called American Express, I had lost my American Express card somewhere at Newark Airport.
I had just arrived in Amsterdam and Amex was going to send the replacement card to Amsterdam.
The replacement card never arrived.
Today I called American Express again to inform why my card never made it to Amsterdam.
A lady told me that I’d never asked for a replacement card.
“I did ask for a replacement card.” I said. “I’m not nuts.”
There was no record of my phone call.
We live in times of disappearance, planes, phone calls, human beings, objects, humanitarian aid, votes, peace processes; disappearance is the rule.
Politicians should declare: “Unfortunately, the peace process has disappeared, but the search for it is in high gear.”
