The weather

Fat children

At a dinner in Prague with the Dutch ambassador, his wife and a few others the Dutch cultural attaché said: “I just read your article about fat children in a Dutch weekly.” “You are sure?” I asked.
“Yes,” she said. “It was written by Marek van der Jagt.” (I used Marek van der Jagt as a pseudonym for four books but he died.)
“Oh,” I said, “I know, there is a journalist named Marijn van der Jagt who works for that particular weekly, but she exists, and I seldom write about fat children.” The cultural attaché seemed to be disappointed that I didn’t write about fat children.
I think people should speak more about the weather.
The weather is so interesting.
