Par exemple, les insurgés tchétchènes tuent 186 enfants lors d’une prise d’otages dans une école en 2004.”

It’s interesting that we (at least some of us) appear to believe that certain cruelties are new or surprising, while these cruel acts have been with us for a long time, probably even before Mao.

A war against terrorism is unwinnable, because one terrorist act can humiliate the powers that claim to fight the terrorists, in other words fighting a war against terrorism turns the West into an hostage of even the smallest and least powerful group of terrorists.

What war did we (the US) exactly win after 1945? The desire to engage in unwinnable wars may be decadence or masochism, or perhaps we should accept that war is perpetual and we should tell the newborns: “Welcome to the war.”
