Until recently I was not acquainted with “Air Bud”, but as of lately my godson has a huge appetite for dog movies.
In the early evening of this beautiful day (at least in Davos) I didn’t see more than twenty minutes of one the Air Bud movies, but it was enough for the moment. I saw Air Buddy get a wedding ring, I saw him play soccer and I saw him flirt with another dog.
Not do discredit my godson’s taste or Air Bud, but I would say that the adjective “schmaltzy” summarizes the movie well.
But then again: we live in schmaltzy times, our culture is a schmaltzy culture and soon we will have a saint (or a God) named Schmaltz.
