This afternoon, in a bookstore in The Hague a middle-aged woman approached me with a bouquet of flowers.
“The flowers are for you,” she said.
I signed a book for her, thanked her for the flowers, then she looked around and she said: “There are quite some people here, there are people who appreciate you.”
Before I could ask further questions she disappeared into the crowd.
