This afternoon I attended a dress rehearsal of my play “Hoppla, wir sterben!” (Hop, we are dying!).
It’s confronting to listen to your own text coming out of an actor’s mouth, but the actors were all very good.
The dramaturge had put a Borowski-quote in the text, but very discreetly.
Then I had dinner with the director and the dramaturge and we discussed Germany, identity loss, and what it means to be displaced.
“We should do this more often,” the director said.
