Enjoyment

Piece by piece

On Friday morning around 1:30 a.m. I was craving sushi and I decided to go to restaurant Sushi Seki on 1st Avenue. There were a bunch of men and one woman sitting at the sushi bar.
I ordered sashimi.
A businessman in his fifties was sitting next to me and he was ordering sushi piece by piece. He ate conscientiously and the more he ordered the more he appeared to enjoy the sushi, so much that he made noises people usually make when they are having sex. At least five times he said to the sushi chef: “One more piece and then it’s done.”
And then he started sighing again and he rolled his eyes, perhaps he was having an orgasm. Everything was possible at that time of the day.
But he didn’t disturb me at all; he made my sashimi even more enjoyable.
The enjoyment of other people can be extremely pleasurable.
