Finger food

Equipped

On Friday afternoon the Dutch consul in Cape Town hosted a gathering with drinks and finger food in honor of the visit of an author. The consul turned out to be an intelligent lady who described herself as a "contrarian".
I talked for almost an hour with a South-African author of Indian descent who claimed that he didn't sell enough books to call himself an author.
At a certain moment I asked him: "Do you have children?"
"I'm not sure," he answered.
"Does your wife know?" I asked.
"Yes," he said. "She is better equipped to answer this question."
It was a lovely afternoon.
