Detachment

Bar-Dancing San Francisco on the Zeedijk in Amsterdam, the place where I spent quite a few nights in the nineties. Last night we celebrated the launch of my collected letters in the period from 1988-1994 in San Francisco. My dear friend Pierre Bokma read one of my old letters, it happened to be a letter to Pierre himself, the only letter I ever wrote to him. (In 2015 Pierre declared that he is going to be my mother, so now we exchange text messages and some physical intimacy from time to time.) Afterwards I observed friends from the past, the present and the future. It was more than sheer observing. Detachment can be warm and cozy.
