God's shoulder

A shoulder for the hapless

The New York Times reported yesterday that a certain Mr. Draper is writing a book about President Bush. Small excerpts from this book were published in the paper: ‘In response to Mr. Draper’s observance that Mr. Bush had nobody’s “shoulder to cry on,” the president said: “Of course I do, I’ve got God’s shoulder to cry on, and I cry a lot.” In what Mr. Draper interpreted as a reference to war casualties, Mr. Bush added, “I’ll bet I’ve shed more tears than you can count as president.”’

As a non-believer I don’t have God’s shoulder to cry on. At the same time this site offers a shoulder to cry on to all its visitors.
But this is no complaint. If I have to choose between a live-in maid and God’s shoulder I go for the live-in maid.
