I'm not a dog

Culture wars

The New York Times film critic A.O. Scott advised readers to see the movie “Knocked Up” before summer was over.
So before summer was over I went to see “Knocked Up”.
There is a one-night stand between a rather improbable pair, there is a baby, and there is love.
A.O. Scott called this movie “the most entertaining battle in the culture wars”.
As the culture wars goes I can testify that the jobless pothead in this movie transforms himself into a dedicated (and not jobless) father.
His pregnant girlfriend objects to doggy style sex, because she says: “I’m not a dog.” He answers something like, it’s just doggy style -- it does not mean you are a dog.
There is a great, rather realistic scene of childbirth in the movie. In general the gynecologists in this movies were among my favorite characters.
And yes, the movie left me with the impression that it must be fun to have sex with a highly pregnant woman.
Last time I checked “casual encounters” on craigslist there was a pregnant woman available.
But after a few seconds of hesitation I decided that I’m not ready for casual encounters yet.
If you ask me why I sank so low, my answer is simple: “Because of the most entertaining battle in the culture wars.”
