The rhetorical questions David Brooks is fond of asking border on stand-up comedy:
"I could never in a million years vote for Donald Trump. So my question to Democrats is: Will there be a candidate I can vote for?"

If you cannot vote in a million years for Trump you can vote for any other candidate. In this political climate all of the Democratic candidates can be considered moderate.
And being too moderate can be a huge problem as well. In politics, in literature, in love. Moderation can become fear of existence.
