In the early evening we took the boat to Bannerman Island, also called Pollepel Island, to see the play "Arsenic & Old Lace" by Joseph Kesselring.
Th boat ride and the island itself would have been reason enough to go there but the play, which got interrupted by rain and lightning, added to the charm and the hilarity of the evening. It's a while ago that I saw murder treated as an excuse for comic relief.
