A fraud

Giving offense

Yesterday we arrived at the guesthouse belonging to the Matetic Vineyards to indulge in the discrete charmes of bourgeois tourism.
A friend of mine said recently: “While promoting my book I felt like a fraud.” I feel like a fraud while tasting wine.
We had dinner with a rather silent couple from Japan and another couple from Pennsylvania.
I asked myself after dinner what the difference is between European middle class and American middle class. I would say it’s a different reaction to the threat of insecurity.
American middleclass works very hard to be not offensive.
Sometimes the attempts to be not offensive can be offensive.
