A friend invited me for dinner and asked me to bring a bottle of white wine.
It was already late, Sunday night, most liquor stores were closed, but deep inside my fridge I found a bottle of Soave, 2006, The bottle must have been in my fridge for at least ten years. Maybe I should open my fridge more often.
Let’s give it a try, I thought.
The wine turned out to be rather good.
My friend said: “They don’t want you to know this, but you can keep wine forever.” Maybe not forever, but for a very long time, in the fridge. If the lockdown does come to us I have at least one more bottle of Soave 2006 in my fridge. A soothing thought.
