Two couples at the table next to us were enchanted with our son, now 18 months old.
One of the husbands, the bearded one, said: 'You speak Dutch, what brings you here?'
'I'm from New York City,' I answered.
'So are we,' the other husband added. '56th and 3rd.'
'37th and Park.'
The bearded husband said: 'We live here, we have an inn, 30 minutes drive from here, many weddings, the winters are long, but not as bad as you thought they would be.'
Then the kid diverted the attention to himself, he did it with grace and charm. His mother said, 'he's an actor.'
