An excellent article by Ron Stodghill in the Times today: “A House Divided: Uncivil War on E. 73rd.” A story about the struggle between a landlord, Mr. Pavia, and his tenant, Mr. Couri, and another tenant who got in Mr. Couri’s way.

I have taken my shoes off at the door and walked around as lightly as possible in my stocking feet.”' One is reminded of The Tenant, the novel by Roland Topor.
