Arnon Grunberg was Writer in Residence at the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam from juin 2019 until May 2020. Therefore, he wrote the essay Blinde gehoorzaamheid (Blind obedience). In the essay he seeks how hope and trust relate to loss and (human) sacrifice in our culture.
